Only the Present Sitting: What This Clock Never Announces

Visitors sometimes wait for the clock to announce something — a bulletin, a change, an hour struck. It never does, and the silence is the point of the furniture: this studio is a place where fictional people are made one sitting at a time, not a place where the world is reported as it happens. Keeping the clock silent keeps the desk’s one promise — that everything published here is the studio’s own work, about its own characters, judged against its own written record.

The silence shapes the economics as well. Nothing is spent maintaining an appearance of liveness: no feeds, no bulletins, no broadcast apparatus. The budget goes where the work is — standard frames at 6 credits to prove a character, premium and finishing money only on frames that earned it.

What the clock does mark, plainly, is method. The card is read at every tool, the judging order never changes, and the hour’s line is the only thing ever revised. A maker who learns those three habits can hold a character for a season; a maker who waits for announcements learns nothing.

Only the present sitting, taken slowly and read exactly. That is the entire time this studio keeps.
